Robert Osborne (1932 – 2017)

Veteran Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne dies at 84. Osborne served as a biographer for the Academy Awards, wrote for The Hollywood Reporter, and introduced the very first film ever to appear on the then-new TCM network, Gone with the Wind (1939). It was the start of a long hosting career on the network. As a Cable TV scholar of classic film, Osborne will be remembered as introducing entire generations of film fans to some of Hollywood’s greatest works.
