Just a footnote for memory.  Now long gone the Leilani was located 18615 W. Bluemound Road Brookfield Wisconsin.  It was a Polynesian Supper Club and Motel opened in August 1961.  It offered exotic drinks, polynesian cuisine,  a Tahitian floor show and guest appearances from noted entertainers such as Mel Torme,  The Andrew Sisters and Wayne Newtwon.  It changed hands over the years until it was finally demolished in the early 1990’s.  The motif was popular in a post world war II era but by then its style was already past its prime and it’s placement on an empty US Highway at time seemed out of place.  Perhaps that was its charm.  I remember going there as a little kid with my Grandparents in the 1970’s.
